Join Our Network: Individual Practitioners
If you have a private practice and perform behavioral health outpatient services, you can apply to join CIGNA's behavioral network as an individual practitioner.
Note: If you provide outpatient services at a Clinic that is already in CIGNA's behavioral network, go to the Clinic Practitioners page.
Our Minimum Credentialing Requirements
In order to participate in CIGNA's behavioral network, all practitioners must meet the following minimum credentialing requirements:- A license to practice independently (without supervision) in the state in which you are providing services;
- A minimum of two (2) years of post-independent licensure experience (non-MD level clinicians);
- Professional Liability Insurance with minimum limits of:
- $1 million/$3 million for Physicians and Psychiatric Nurses with prescriptive authority, or
- $1 million/$1 million for all other practitioners (note: practitioners in FL and TX should contact their state's Network Development Specialist to review the standards).

BCBA: If you are a BCBA without an additional behavioral license to practice independently, please contact Provider Services.
How to Join CIGNA's Behavioral Network

- If you are already contracted with CIGNA's behavioral network, please submit demographic changes here.
- Please note if you practice in Minnesota, North Dakota, or western Wisconsin:
CIGNA's behavioral network represents an alliance between CIGNA and HealthPartners. For contract consideration, please contact HealthPartners at 1.888.638.6648. However, if you provide only EAP services and wish to apply, please continue from this site.
Joining Our Network:
- What You'll Need To Start
- Complete the Online Screening Form
- The process will take about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
Once you submit your Online Screening Form:
- You will have an opportunity to print your completed Screening Form.
- You will receive a confirmation ID.
- An email that includes your confirmation ID will be sent to acknowledge that we have received your submission.
- We will review your Screening Form, and you can expect a written response from us within 30 days of submission.
