Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) & CignaCigna is committed to helping you decrease the amount of time spent on administrative details. One way to do so is to take advantage of the EDI options and tools available to you. EDI transactions allow you to submit claims directly to Cigna and receive real-time responses in seconds. You can also view payment information, including the amount paid, when the check or EFT was issued and the date it cleared. There are two ways to exchange EDI transactions with Cigna: directly connecting to the Cigna systems using free software from Post-N-Track, or by using a clearinghouse. Post-N-Track is easy to install and can be downloaded in less than 5 minutes. No changes are required to your existing claim system. To enroll, contact Post-N-Track at 860.257.2030, or log on to www.Post-N-Track.com and click Enroll. One significant advantage to using Post-N-Track is the ability to submit all your behavioral claims, no matter what type of plan the customer has. Using a Clearinghouse service is another way to save time when submitting claims for payment, and Cigna continues to add to the list of connected clearinghouses. For the latest information of clearinghouse vendors and transactions they support, visit www.cigna.com/EDIvendors. If you do not have an existing relationship with a clearinghouse, contact Emdeon (formerly WebMDŽ) at 1.877.469.3263 or at Ingenix at 1.800.341.6141. For more information on your EDI options, please visit our provider homepage at www.cignabehavioral.com, and check out our Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) flyer under forms and tools. Reminders for the New YearAs we start the New Year, please remember the possible changes to our customer’s eligibility and benefits as a result of Parity. Be sure to call the number on the back of every customer ID card to verify current coverage, even if they are existing patients. Also, now is the time to ensure your patients have updated their coordination of benefits (COB) information with Cigna. Please have them call our customer service line by using the number on the back of their ID card to provide updated COB information. You can also assist in providing us this information by helping the customer complete the COB form found on our provider home page at www.cignabehavioral.com. Once there, click on the link for Medical Management Program and you’ll find this form in Appendix B, page 69.
