NCQA ACCREDITATIONSince 2004, Cigna's behavioral health organization has sought accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for all of its care management sites. This goal was achieved in 2007 and now all of Cigna's behavioral care management sites have “Full” NCQA accreditation for all services. These accreditations are evidence of the company's commitment to providing outstanding customer support and demonstrate the organization's focus on continually improving people’s behavioral health. Keith Dixon, Ph.D., president of Cigna's Health Solutions unit, states, “Our mission is to provide compassionate and innovative services, and unparalleled clinical expertise to individuals, our customers and business associates. The Full Accreditations we have received from NCQA validate our ability to provide a wide range of integrated behavioral health solutions.” NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes physicians in key clinical areas. NCQA’s Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information through the Web, media and data licensing agreements in order to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.
