Presenter short biography: Frederick Muench, Ph.D. is the Director of Research at The Partnership at Drugfree.org. He is a clinical psychologist specializing in addictive disorders and integrating mobile technologies into care. He has worked with adolescents and young adults with addiction problems for the last 15 years in both clinical and research settings. Prior to joining the Partnership, Fred was on the faculty at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an adjunct faculty member at New York University. He is also the author of the parenting humor book, The Official Guide to Dysfunctional Parenting. Prescription and Over-the-counter Medicine Abuse According to research conducted by The Partnership at Drugfree.org, as many as one in five teens say they have taken a prescription drug without having a prescription for it. This seminar will discuss what parents need to know about the dangerous behaviors of abusing over-the-counter and prescription drugs and how to prevent it.
