Who should I call if I have a question about the
care I'm receiving?
If you have a question about your care, talk to your provider. If
you need additional assistance, we're here to help. Every client has
an experienced CIGNA Behavioral Health care manager who coordinates
the care provided by your therapist or psychiatrist and helps ensure
you are getting appropriate treatment. If you ever want to speak to
this person, simply call the 800 number or your designated CIGNA
access number located on your insurance ID card. You do not need a
referral from your primary care physician.
How do I file a complaint?
Call us. The 800 number is on your insurance ID card. CIGNA
Behavioral Health is able to resolve 95% of all complaints within
the same business day.
How do I appeal a denial of payment?
Although filing an appeal is rarely necessary due to our close
working relationship with contracted behavioral health
professionals, CIGNA Behavioral Health has a comprehensive appeal
process.
You can start this process by contacting us at the toll-free number
on your ID card. The process and number of appeals available does
vary from plan to plan. You should follow the appeal process
outlined in your benefit plan summary.

people get the help they need.
